More than 70% people in the world make a list of new Year's resolution on the occasion of New Year, but merely 10% succeed in completing all resolutions of their list. This is not a surprising factor. They are hard to keep, this is why they are called resolutions.

Be Realistic: Make resolutions that you actually want to accomplish and you can accomplish. Do not add unrealistic things to your list. Instead of resolving to never eat your favorite food, set a limit on eating
Set goals instead of resolutions: Resolutions are hard to keep and are usually beyond your limit. Goals are achievable and realistic. Make goals to support your resolutions. Make both short-term and long-term goals
Start small: Instead of trying to do everything altogether, take one thing at a time. Also, take small steps initially and see the results. If your plan is going well, move ahead

Plan in advance: Many people do not plan their resolutions up to the last day of the year and start only from New Year. This is not right. I start making New Year resolutions for next year from the first day of this year itself. Anything that comes in my way that I want to change, goes into my list
Track your progress: It is very important to know that your progress is going in the right direction. Keep track of your progress and continue if you are doing well. Otherwise, you may need to change the plan
